Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages

GIVE YOUR TEACHING CAREER A HEADSTART

British Council Chennai is now open for registrations for the January 2017 CELTA Batch.

British Council Chennai is delighted to announce its next batch of Cambridge Certificate in Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages (CELTA) in the month of January 2017.

CELTA is a 4-week, 120-hour intensive course that is an international benchmark of English Language Teaching. It is an initial qualification for people with little or no previous teaching experience and is equally relevant to those who want to gain an internationally recognised qualification. Some of our CELTA graduates in the past were engineers, pilots, sports instructors, lawyers, amongst others.

To qualify for the course, prospective candidates must be advanced users of the language (C1 Level of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages) and successfully pass all three stages of the interview.

Throughout the CELTA course, a candidate will
• develop their teaching skills
• learn to plan lessons and design materials
• be assessed on their teaching during practice sessions.

Assessments:
This course is assessed through a combination of teaching practice and written assignments with our dedicated Cambridge approved CELTA tutors, providing specialist guidance and support. Every course is approved and moderated by a Cambridge English external assessor.
