Rajani Gayatri sing for the cause of organ donation

On 3rd Dec 2017 the Vadapalani Metro station will have musical notes instead of announcements. This is the celebrations of 20 years of MOHAN Foundation, an NGO that promotes deceased organ donation.

In the year 1997 a novel idea was born to initiate deceased organ donation in India. This took the form of an NGO MOHAN Foundation and the first office was set up in Anna Nagar under the leadership of Dr. Sunil Shroff. Ever since its conception, it has worked tirelessly in the service to patients that are suffering with end stage organ failure, by providing the “Gift of Life” through life saving organ donations.

MOHAN Foundation this year completes 20 years of its existence. It has grown to become a national NGO with offices in Mumbai, Hyderabad, Delhi, Chandigarh, Jaipur and Nagpur. The volunteers, counselors and staff have been a catalyst in saving over 7,000 lives through organ and tissue donations.

To celebrate the lives of those that have received a new lease of life, and those that have donated their organs, MOHAN Foundation is organizing a Carnatic music concert by the most popular Ranjani & Gayatri sisters on the evening of 3rd December (Sunday) 2017 at the Vadapalani Metro Station.  Such a concert will happen for the first time in India in a Metro Station.

The RaGa sisters have the capacity to deeply experience and enjoy what they sing, that takes their music to a different plane. Their concerts are known to be extremely popular, drawing full houses, resound with energy, freshness and emotional fervor.  This concert also celebrates Chennai listing as a City for Music under the UNESCO Creative Cities network.
