VETERAN THEATRE, FILM, TV ACTOR – DIRECTOR, TV HOST SHRI VISU TO BE CONFERRED WITH “KARTIK RAJAGOPAL MEMORIAL AWARD” IN COMMEMORATION OF KARTIK RAJAGOPAL’S 93RD BIRTH ANNIVERSARY

ON THIS DAY SUNDAY, 3RD JULY 2016 at 6.00 PM Shri Visu would be conferred with “Kartik Rajagopal Memorial Award” at Dr. Preetha Reddy Auditorium (Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan Main Hall) East Mada Street, Mylapore Chennai – 600 004.




Meenakshi Sundaram Ramaswamy Viswanathan popularly known as VISU Was born on 01.07.1945 at Bombay to Ramaswamy Iyer and Rajam Ammal. Visu has Written and Directed about 20 stage plays which were together staged more than 3000 times, apart from taking part in about 500 plays of YGP’s UAA written by Mr. Vietnam Veedu Sundaram and Mr. Mouli. He has conducted A Powerful Talk Show namely “ARATTAI ARANGAM” for Sun TV and “MAKKAL ARANGAM” for Jaya TV that were telecast for a span of more than 20 years. Visu has written Screen play and Script for about 50 feature films and has Directed about 30 films of them and has also acted in about 75 films. He has won National Award twice the first one for Samsaram Adhu Minsaram and the other for Neenga Nallaa Irukkanum. He has also won Four Nandi Awards from Andhra Pradesh Government for Telugu films Directed by him. He was also conferred with “Kalaimamani” title by the Tamil Nadu Government. He has also received Best Writer Award twice instituted by the Tamil Nadu Government.

Sabaretnam, Chairman, Kartik Fine Arts would preside over the function. The award function will be followed by Light Music by Bharti Entertainers.
