Dr Sirkazhi G Sivachidambaram felicitated with  Sri Krishna Sweets ‘Bharathi Semmal’ Award

Instead of organizing programs, festivals for Mahakavi Bharathi it is more important to propagate his pedagogies, Film Director Sri S P Muthuraman said in ‘Bharathiyin Pathayilae’ a program conducted by Sri Krishna Sweets.

As part of Sri Krishna Sweets ‘Naal Thorum Nalathu Seivom’, Tamil literary and Spiritual programs are conducted all through the year for the benefit of the society.

Sri Krishna Sweets jointly with Chennai Bharathi Sangam and Bharathiya Vidya Bhavan is organizing ‘Bharathiyin Parvaiyilae’ as a series once in a month. In this program film director Sri S P Muthuraman delivered a special address on ‘Bharathiyum Thamizh Thiraiyum’ .  Dr Sirkazhi G Sivachidambaram, Principal, Perambalur Government Medical College was felicitated with ‘Bharathi Semmal’ award by Senior Advocate and President, Bharathiyar Sangam Sri E Ra Gandhi who presided over the function in presence of Sri M Murali, Sri Krishna Sweets.

Dr Sirkazhi G Sivachidambaram in his acceptance speech said the award instituted by three great organizations Bharathi Sangam, Bharthiya Vidya Bhavan and Sri Krishna Sweets is equivalent to receiving ‘Bharatha Ratna’ for me.  He said he is blessed to receive the award.




Film director Sri S P Muthuraman praised Sri M Murali of Sri Krishna Sweets for his time management. He said inspite of his busy schedule, Sri M Murali always keeps up his time on appointments.  He appreciated the efforts taken for his yeomen service to the society.  He also praised Dr Sirkazhi G Sivachidambaram for the award.

He appealed for a united conscience among members to come forward to take up the responsibility to propagate the teachings of Mahakavi  Bharathi around the world.

It is sad that there were only about twenty persons around when he was cremated, he said. Bharathi always gave more importance to our motherland than his family, he added.  For the children he wrote poems that were received well.  He was dedicated and involved himself selflessly for the India freedom movement.

He was instrumental in creating awareness about family relationship. He emphasized the concept of one man one woman to lead a disciplined life.




He thanked the efforts taken by AVM Meyyappa Chettiar to bring Mahakavi Bharathi to light in films.  Meyyappa Chettiar has purchased the poems of Bharathi paying Rs 10,000 which Mahakavi Bharathi has sold to a person for Rs 600/- to meet his family expenses.

Three songs featured in the film ‘Naam Iruvar’ produced by AVM Studios. Later Meyyappa Chettiar collected lot of Mahakavi Bharathi works and his contribution to the society is phenomenal. It is the responsibility of each and every one of us to make the Tamil Language popular around the world, he said.

Smt. Saradha Nambi Arooran delivered the valedictory address and Sri Madhivanan, General Secretary, Bharathi Sangam coordinated the program.
