St. Louis College for the Deaf organized its 24th Annual Sports Meet
“St. Louis College for the Deaf organized its 24th Annual Sports Meet recently in the College Ground upholding all the aspects of sporting events. Apart from celebrating victories, sports meet also aim at imparting lessons on sportsman spirit and comradeship to the students. “The moment of victory is much too short to live for that and nothing else,” said Martina Navratilova, tennis player. According to her words, the day was filled with exciting victories and near misses for all the houses.
The Dignitaries and the spectators were surprised to see demonstrations of the students in the Physical Displays like Mallakhamb, Pyramid, Mass Drill etc. in spite of their hearing disability. The Chief Guest Mr. K. P. Shanmuga Rajeswaran, I.G., Armed Police, Trichy appreciated the students and faculty members especially the Physical Director, Mr. S. Rajesh for training the students to perform in an elegant way. The Special Guest Ms. Sudha Shah, the Former Indian Woman Cricketer applauded the students for their coordination in all the events.
All the students participated with great excitement in the track and field events. The ground echoed the triumphant yells of the winners. The day ended with a cheerful note, heralding the activities of the year 2016 – 2017 and also filled with promises for all the young sports enthusiasts”.
