THEATRE FEST

THE HINDU THEATRE FEST 2016

Launched in Chennai in 2005, The Hindu Theatre Fest has grown to become one of the celebrated theatre festivals in the country. Over the years, the fest has showcased theatre from various parts of India by bringing together prominent artists and groups. This year marks the 12th anniversary of the festival.

The Hindu Theatre Fest has graduated from being an event to an institution in its own right through citizen reviews published in the paper and an annual coveted The Hindu Playwright Award evaluated by an acclaimed jury. The fest presently engages an audience of nearly 10,000 each year with an agenda to become an annual event in all of the major South Indian cities.

Highlights for 2016

This year The Hindu Theatre Fest will take place in three cities – Chennai, Hyderabad and Bengaluru. The highlights for this year are Naseeruddin Shah’s Dear Liar by Motley in Chennai and Hyderabad, a curated, exclusive weekend of Tamil plays in Chennai. Theatre lovers can expect a great mix of music & theatre in productions such as Loretta &Yatagarasu. QTP returns to Theatre Fest with The God of Carnage & Rage Productions will perform the famous ’12 Angry Jurors’.
