Celebrating Music, Serving Humanity

Karna Vidya Foundation (KVF) along with the Rotary Club of Madras Coromandel organized “Maithreem Bhajatha”, a fundraiser concert commemorating the centennial year of M.S. Subbulakshmi, at Sivagami Pethachi Auditorium, Alwarpet. Kalaimamani O. S. Arun was the Chief Guest.




The Concert saw Aishwarya Srinivas – Vocal, V.V.Srinivasa Rao – Violin, M. T. Aditya Srinivasan – Tabla and Arjun Ganesh – Mridangam, perform the legend’s songs, including some of her own compositions in Classical, Semi Classical, Bhajan, Devotional and Film Genres.




The highlight of the event was the special vocal performance by visually challenged young artists Ms. Akshaya and Ms. Srilekha. They rendered the famous ‘Kurai Onrum Illai’ which mesmerized the audience. The beneficiaries of the Karna Vidya Foundation also shared their experiences, with the audience.




According to Rtn. R. Balasubrahmanyan, Founder Trustee, Karna Vidya Foundation, “Karna Vidya is a unique initiative that is led by the Visually Challenged, for the Visually Challenged. The main objective is to focus on education, employment and empowerment of the visually impaired, so that they can lead a decent and a near normal life. The Money raised through this program will be used to provide help to persons with seeing difficulties.”
