Save environment – Save Nature – celebrate pollution free Bhogi Special awareness program.

Exnora Greater Chennai and Lions Club of Central Madras in association with SRKM Sarada Vidyalaya  Girls H.S.School, Chennai, conducted an Awareness program  and Human Chain on Clean Environment and need for celebrating a Pollution Free Bhogi.
 
The meeting was well attended by more than 500 students and 25 teachers of the school.




 Mrs. R. Meena, the Headmistress of the school welcomed the guests, teachers and students and elaborated the need and necessity for protection of environment.
 
Mr. R. Govindaraj, President, Exnora Greater Chennai was the Chief Guest and delivered her address, emphasising the the meaning of Exnora’s slogan, Think Globally, Act Locally and Do Domestically. Further she expanded this to Act Individually, by keeping every ones house, surroundings as clean as possible and environment friendly.
 
Mr. R. Sridharan, President, T.Nagar Exnora Innovators Club also emphasised the need to  control pollution  on our every day’s life and insisted, on occasion like festival line Bhogi, we must avoid and request our neighbours to avoid burning tyres tubes and other materials containing toxic chemicals.
 




Lion S.N.Harinarayanan, Chairman Projects ,Lions Club of Central Madras emphasised to give importance to cleanliness to the environment, as we give care to our personal cleanliness. He recalled old proverb in Tamil,’ Suddham Sugam Tharum” and requested the students to carry this message to their parents and neighbours.
 
The Guests were presented with Saplings to strengthen the motto of the school, Go Green.




 
After the meeting, the students belonging to various volunteer groups formed a human chain in front of the school, on the  Usman Road, holding placards and raising slogans.
