SRI KRISHNA SWEETS 8TH EDITION OF SALUTE TO MOTHERS A GRAND CELEBRATION
It was a pleasant emotional evening at the eighth edition of Sri Krishna Sweets ‘Salute to Mothers’ event held at Sir Mutha Venkatasubba Rao concert hall, Lady Andal School, Chetpet featuring a number of celebrities and their mothers. Mothers were honoured with a shawl and memento with their children seated at their feet.
At the event, Sri Krishna Sweets honoured Alamelu Venkataraman, mother of actor-dramatist S Ve Sheker, Arul Mary, mother of Sujith Kumar, founder, Maatram Foundation; Kamala, mother of RJ Balaji; Lalitha Sivakumar, mother of Nityashree Mahadevan; Dr Manamalli Sivaraman, mother of Dr Ananthakrishnan Sivaraman, consultant urologist and robotic surgeon, Apollo Hospitals; K Padma, mother of K K Anand, founder, Smart Edu Group; Radha Mohan, mother of Vijay Narayan, senior advocate, Madras High Court; Seetha Subramanian, mother of S Ravi Veeraraghavan, partner – Deloitte Haskins & Sells LLP; C Thulasiammal, mother of C Devarajan, managing director, URC Constructions and Uma Prabhakrishnan, mother of Gautham Vasudev Menon, film director.
Next to mothers it is motherland that is of paramount importance.
The school band of Sri RKM Saradha Matriculation School, T Nagar marching forward receiving Mrs Geetha Vardarajan, mother of Major Mukund Varadarajan from the entrance of the auditorium to the dais for honour playing ‘Sarae Jaha Sae Acha’.
Major Mukund Varadarajan was killed during an encounter with militants near the Line of Control in Jammu and Kashmir. Saluting the brave son of India, who was an officer in the Rajput regiment of the Indian army and was posthumously awarded the Ashok chakra, India’s highest peacetime gallantry award for killing three terrorists in an encounter at the Shupiyan district.
Sri M Murali in his welcome speech said it was an auspicious occasion to celebrate the motherhood. It’s time for children to give respect and show thanks to the lady who has devoted herself for them. Sri Krishna Sweets show respect towards mother by celebrating this event ‘Salute to Mothers’, he said.
From managing our resources to being our guardian angel, there is no one better than our mother. Most often, mothers are not recognised for their altruistic sacrifices in moulding their children. Mother’s presence is felt throughout one’s life’s journey and is the greatest power in the universe, he said.
There was enthralling dance performance by Padmalaksshme Suresh and disciples on honouring mothers. Each and every celebrity spoke in praise of their mother and their sacrifice. Due to non availability of Sri RJ Balaji his brother participated. The celebrities spoke on how mothers were recognized as an important part of our culture and lives. They spoke about the impact of mother’s unconditional love towards their children and how they never give up to any situation and establish trust and firm foundation in children to become a successful mother. Many of them shared about the determination, dedication, self-discipline that they learned from their mother to reach to this level.
