R.Pandiarajan is an iconic film Director and Actor in Tamil film industry, popular for his belly laughing movie flicks amongst the Tamil language speaking population not only within India but across the globe.
He started his career in film industry as copy writer in the office of Script writer, Producer Thooyavan. He met his cinema Mentor, Director and Script writer K.Bhagyaraj, at Thooyavan’s office and started working as an assistant director for the film “Mouna Geethangal”. Within a short span of time, Pandiarajan got elevated to the level of associate director for the Tamil movie “Darling Darling Darling”. His mastery over the art of filmmaking enabled Pandiarajan make his debut as director in the film “Kanni Rasi”, when he was just twenty one years old, making him one of the youngest directors in the film industry. The movie “Kanni Rasi” starring lead actors Prabhu and Revathi turned out to be a blockbuster and was highly acclaimed by the public since it dealt with the controversial Hindu religious myth called‘Chevvai Dosham’. Following “Kanni Rasi”, Pandiarajan went on to direct “Aan Paavam” which stood as a testimonial movie for flawless screenplay in Tamil film history. The movie screenplay was highly acclaimed by the film industry and it has been inculcated as a semester chapter for film institute students. Pandiarajan also made his debut as an actor in this film “Aan Paavam” by playing one of the lead roles.“Aan Paavam” a cult comedy riot gained him a remarkable identity in the film industry.
His blockbuster movie list includes “Aan Paavam”, “Oorai Terunjukittaen”, “Kadhanayagan”,”Patti Sollai Thattathe”,”Vaai Kozhupu”,”Thai Kulame Thai Kulame” and ”Gopala Gopala”. He was also highly appreciated for portraying a negative shade character in the film “Anjathey”. His quest for knowledge made him complete his Masters in Arts (History) and Masters in Philosophy (Tamil Cinema Research) & he currently pursues PhD in “Role of Tamil Film Industry towards Social Contribution”.
His passion for music made him learn Violin from Thamizhisai College, Chennai and he was conferred with the title “Isai Selvam”. He composed music for one of his films “Nethiyadi”which got released in 1989.
Pandiarajan became a household name mainly because his comedy flicks were family oriented and didn’t contain vulgarity even in the slightest way. He has a total of nine films to his credit as successful director. Leaving direction aside, he has acted in more than hundred movies.

Awards & Accolades
Won Dinagaran Best Dialogue Writer Award for his blockbuster movie “Gopala Gopala”.
Won award for his short film “Help” at the ArtDeco Film Festival 2011, at São Paulo, in Brazil.
Won high accolade for his documentary “Mann Paanai”at the Tulip Hibulb Cultural Center Film Festival 2013.
Won accolade for his short film “Help” at the Cape Winelands Film Festival, South Africa.
